Well, here it is, my submission to the Scholastic Art Awards contest. Gee, I hope they like it. Well, my old art teacher didn't seem too put off by it, so maybe she thinks I've finally improved.
*sigh* I'll probably be lucky if this thing even places. Otherwise, I'm gonna feel like a big fat failure. Well, I can always hope for Honorable Mention....that's something, right? I wonder when we get word of the winners...
this is just so well done...you did a nice job with the fox, the bg...it all looks wonderful ^_^
However...I would consider entering a different competion with this seeing as I have entered scholastic many a time...and they are extreamly closeminded...and seem to be turned off to everything that isnt realism...-_-
BUT...i don't know if you've heard of it but VASE competition is suposed to be nation wide, and i lovelovelove that contest...they are great and are open to even the most bizare styles of art
DAMMIT!!! I just blew $5 on those losers! Actually, it was my dad's money, so no biggy. Do they send you something telling you if you've won or your just not "what they like". Thanks for the warning, though.
No, I haven't heard of it. I'll have to look that up and check it out. Good to hear that there's someone out there who's more open-minded.
And thank you the compliment. I worked really hard on this. Although, I want to try shading a different way...buuuuut, I'll probably go back to the ol' gradient shading! Thanks for the fave!

Heavens above, look at this. This is like a cell from a cartoon still or something. You really did a good job on this. That fox certainly looks excited about something. The expression is so bright and colorful. I like it. Oh, and whatever contest you enter this in, I hope it gets some recognition.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
